Green Mountain Scenic Byway

The Green Mountain Scenic Byway begins in Howie Heights at the intersection of 455 and 561, and follows 455 through Ferndale and Montverde. The Byway picks up old County Road 50 and continues to the Lake/Orange County border where it follows Orange County 438 through Oakland and into Winter Garden. It received designation because of its unique ability to showcase Florida's heritage, beauty and other special historical, cultural, scenic, archaeological, recreational and natural qualities. The rolling hills, sweeping vistas, and rural charm have been preserved and enhanced by the prudent planning, management, and cooperation of the Corridor Management Entity, other citizen's groups, development interests and government. If you would like to be a part of the Corridor Management Entity, meetings are held the second Thursday of the month. E-mail gregjgensh@comcast.net or call Glen Burns at 407-469-3201 for more information about the time and location of the next meeting.

The Green Mountain Scenic Byway Committee holds their next monthly meeting
the second Thursday of each month. Details here shortly before each one.

Have a happy and safe Independence Day!
